Use Fabric #4 and add it to the quilt top as an Inner Border. Use Fabric #5 and add it to the quilt top as an Outer Border. Quilt top is complete and ready for quilting. BONUS: For instructions on how to apply borders to a quilt Click Here I know that you are thinking that this is an pretty un-spectacular quilt. And you are correct, especially at this point. As a friend once told me "It's going to take a heap of quilting to make it look good!" Trust me, once this quilt top gets quilted it’s going to look VERY different. Next, piece your backing fabric if necessary and then put your quilt top on your quilting machine in your usual manner. If at all possible, float your quilt top so that the top raw edge of the quilt is about 1 inch or so away from the leader. If you don’t know how to do this, Click Here to go to the Tutorial Page for the article “Putting a Quilt on the Quilting Machine”. Bonus: For instructions on how to stitch the backing fabric together Click Here Have your
quilt on your machine, ready to begin stitching. |
