I'ts February already!! The time just seems to be flying past. So much to do and so little time to do it in. I wish there was a way to get more hours into the day. Many of you are buried under lots of snow and dealing with cold temperatures. Here in the Northwest we have had an exceptionally warm winter. In fact, the winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC, Canada (about 300 miles from here) have to truck in snow for some of the events! As warm as it has been - usually in the mid 50's - I just know there is going to be some nasty weather before spring arrives. If you are a professional machine quilter, during the winter you may have less customer quilts to finish. Don't worry, this time of year is usually slow. Use this time to your advantage - quilt some of your own quilts using some new techniques, piece a quilt or two for yourself or as gifts and if nothing else, clean your quilt studio (I know, you would rather do ANYTHING else than clean your studio!) If you decide to piece a quilt, take a look at some of the tools I have found helpful to me. From fine, sharp, piecing pins to the Marti Michelle Flying Geese Ruler which is my favorite way to piece triangles! There is even a video tutorial on using this great ruler! I had a really nasty winter cold/bronchitis and now I am back to nearly normal and working on new online classes. If you have a class idea or a quilting technique you would like to see as an online class, please send me an email and let me know your thoughts. Speaking of Online Classes - there are three classes online at the Longarm Classroom website at www.longarmclassroom.com and you can register for these classes at any time. When you register, you can view the online video 24/7 for 60 days. You will also receive a DVD of the class (at no additional charge) so you view the class after the 60 days are up. For a list of the classes on the LongarmClassroom.com website Click Here More online classes are available on the Innovations Online website. These online classes were recorded during Innovations 2009 and are now ready for you to view.
